Original Stone Association Gets a New Web Site
If you tried to visit our old web site in the past few months, you might
have noticed that it did not exist, because of a server change, and had
been replaced by a general Yahoo page.
Now, we are in the process of building our new site, the site you are
currently viewing. There are still some major information holes here and
there, but Lord willing, those will be filled in future weeks.
Some new things have or will be added, such as a much expanded
Committees and Officers and History section. The Youth Rally and Stone
Bible Institute sections are new and will contain information on those
works. Also, the Calendar of Events has been returned to the home page.
As we endeavor to provide information to you about our association
and its churches, we need your help in gathering information. We will
attempt to make contact with each church on a regular basis, but most
stories cannot be written or pictures taken unless we are given tips about
what is happening, whether special events, church projects, new pastors
or deacons, etc.
Thanks for viewing this site, and if you have comments, suggestions or
information to share, they are very welcome. Please email me at

Fund-raiser Held at Shady Grove Raises Money for New
Fellowship Hall
The BBQ and Bluegrass Gospel Jamboree was held at Shady Grove
this past Saturday, raising around $1000 for the churches new fellowship
hall.
Singers at the fund-raiser include: Bill Craft and the England Family,
Lloyd and Lonnie Finley, Bruce Tooley and Eric Beaty.
The new fellowship hall is 30 by 50 feet and will cost a total of around
$25,000 to build, with $5000 still needed. The church began the project
in June and hopes to be finished by October or November.
"What impressed me the most was how the people worked and how it
brought the church together," said pastor Danny Lane concerning the
building project, "it has helped the growth of the church. Projects get
everyone involved."
This fund-raiser was the latest in a long line, including a yard sale, a
benefit singing and a Boston Butt Roast, the previous three raising
around $3200.
Also, this is not the first project this year for the church, which has
seen its attendance double since October. In February and March, the
church auditorium was totally renovated.
Lane, who has been pastor of the church since this October said their
goals are "to grow the church, build it up and grow it. We don't want to
build it over night because you lose them that way, but we want to slowly
build, spiritually and numerically."
"Shady Grove has been seen and not heard for years. We want it to
be known as one of our churches, not just by a name in the book."
